ENV Board

The Most Durable 100% Recycled Alternative to Wood and Plastic.

We conserve natural resources and extend the useful life of man-made materials.

By reducing:

• Logging
• Incineration
• Landfill use

ENV BOARD is an extremely durable, 100% recycled,
Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Composite.

Manufactured by a proprietary process of blending, extruding, and laminating commingled plastic scrap and post-consumer carpet backing.

New Paradigm: recycling without sorting.

Real World Uses

ENV Board was chosen after thoroughly evaluating and testing several
alternatives. “We can finally build ramps and boardwalks I won’t have to replace
before I retire, thanks to ENV Board”.

ENV Board can be cut, drilled, nailed, routed, and sanded, just like wood. Ideal for curved siding, cladding, soffit, and fascia. Can also be removed and reinstalled if need be, and will not crack or dent even in a hailstorm. It’s silica- and wood–free, and 100% recyclable.

Unlike plywood, ENV Board can be made in 9’ or even longer sheets, enough to reach the upper girder in steel buildings, and so provide excellent protection for vulnerable insulation blankets. It will not rot, delaminate, nor splinter, and can be pressure washed or cleaned with solvents.

Custom length 1.25" ENV Board decking: why buy 8' lumber when your boardwalk is 6' wide? Cut waste, not lumber! 100% recycled fiber-reinforced composite made from post-consumer carpet backing and plastic scrap: zero wood content.

Imported from Texas and tough as a cowboy Vandal-proof: pressure wash or sand to remove graffiti. Ideal for public areas like parks, marinas, bleachers, and for aggressive or corrosive ocean, industrial, construction, and farming applications.

Baby cows (newborn calves) can now be kept safe during their first few days of life without the need for plywood. No wood splinters and no nails to worry about. Unlike wood, ENV Board does not rot nor absorb feces or urine. Disinfection and pressure cleaning can be easily done thanks to its non porous surface.

Notice how ENV Board has been bent and made into easily assembled elements without the need for hardware. The 90 degree angles were made using a blowtorch to soften the material. "Handle" cut outs were easily made with a router..

Here is a ENV Board mud removal mat, used to get the mud off the truck’s tires as it leaves a construction site and before it gets onto a paved road. This sturdy design shakes most of the mud off and so helps reduce the amount of water needed at the wash station.

It's made from 100% recycled plastic scrap and post consumer carpet backing (well, except for the bolts). The first of its kind in the world. Zero wood content. Made in Texas.

Plywood can't be welded but ENV Board can. Here are the front and back of a welding joint on a 1/2" thick panel. Now imagine a roof or wall, where both the plywood and the vapor/water barrier are replaced by a single, waterproof, insect-proof, mold-proof layer: less cost, less labor, less waiting for inspectors and approvals, and no future repairs or replacement costs.

The future is already here; it's just unevenly distributed. ENV Board is a 100% recycled fiber-reinforced composite made from post-consumer carpet backing and plastic scrap: zero wood content. Cut waste, not trees.

ENV Board is truly a remarkable material in a class of its own, somewhere at the intersection of plastics, metals, and wood. Its properties can be “tuned” by varying the fiber content. The higher the fiber content the more “stone-like” it becomes, so it can be turned on a lathe down to as little as 0.8 mm (0.03”) thickness without “exploding”. It can also be sanded to look like stone.

ENV Board can also be laminated onto wood (see the yellow hardwood middle layer) or onto itself.

Freshly harvested potatoes are prone to infection during transport by coming in contact with contaminated plywood used with a previous load. But ENV Board can be pressured washed and disinfected to keep fresh potatoes, well, fresh.

100% recycled from post-consumer carpet backing and plastic scrap; contains zero wood, because trees belong in the forest.
